This was our third visit to Kununnurra and we would definitely visit again!
Our kids love The Grotto - particularly in dry season when it’s more suited to swimming.
Mirima NP is such a surprise so close to town. Many walking tracks to make each visit a little different.
Lake Argyle is stunning and so surprisingly huge. We’ve cruised, with swim, there on each visit.
Check the supermarket closing times before making plans. They open and close earlier than where we live - easy adjustment to our plans to suit.

Kununurra was a great place to stay and base activities from if you are travelling on your own and without a car. Lots of day and overnight tours operate from here including Lake Argyle and Ord river boat cruises and flights over the Bungle Bungles. Accommodation is not too expensive. The town itself is small but has all the basics including a Coles. It has a couple of nice Art galleries including an excellent Indigenous Artist one, Artlandish. I stayed at the Kimberly Grande which is a little bit out of town but it had a good restaurant and a very good cafe called Spilled the Beans about 100m away in a caravan park across the road.

The town seems extremely run down from when I was there ten years ago. The service at the petrol stations and exspecially the wild mango cafe was very average. The hospitality seeks to be run by international travellers creating a confusion with communication and knowledge of the area and the puma petrol station in particular there service is embarrassing and they have no idea on customer service

Every time I get to Kununurra I always book at the hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable and everything you want or need is only a short distance away. The restaurant is good with a great selection on the menu.
If anyone chooses to stay you won't be disappointed.

GREAT OPTIONS TO SEE BEAUTIFUL LAKE ARGYLE LANDSCAPES AND EASY ACCESS TO BUNGLE BUNGLES BY AIR.
KUNUNURRA HAS NIGHT TIME SECURITY ISSUES - NOT RECOMMENDED TO WALK AT NIGHT ESPECIALLY IF ALONE. LUCKILY THE MEALS AND ENTERTAINMENT AT PUB WERE GREAT!
Breakfast wasn't part of the deal. We had our own fridge, etc filled with items purchased in the town on the way from the airport. Our hosts kindly waited for us while we did our shopping. During the week also they were happy to drop us wherever we wished to go in the town. We spent a couple of evenings having a drink and meal at the Kununurra Pub in their delightful company.
Our daughter was being a nightmare the night before. So we were pretty desperate for a sleep as we had none the night before. The staff lovely enough to get us checked in before checkin time. So we could have a afternoon sleep. Unfortunately we didnt stay the night and pushed on to our final destination. This hotel was very accommodating and clean.
Large rooms Large bed. Quiet area considering it is in kunurra. Felt safer having my car there than in the hotels in main town. Food was great and very large portions. Pool was fantastic. Excellent free wifi. Reasonably comfortable bed pleasant seating area outside room . Good shower pressure. Overall I recommend over others in town
Great accommodation choice for Kununurra. Huge apartments with everything you need for a self contained holiday. Modern and fresh decor and very clean throughout. Appreciated the separate bath and shower, the front and rear balconies, the view over the pool and gardens.
Hotel Kununurra is conveniently located in town. You can walk across the road to Coles and down the road to the lagoon for a morning walk. My room was in the furthest block from the pub so there was no noise. Pool is great.
Comfortable cabin stay close to all amenities and airport in Kununurra. Helpful staff and beautiful location on the lakeside to view water birds, wildlife and "gummy" the camp crocodile.
Nice facilities - pool area comfortable and attractive. Apartments spacious and well set up. Liked the outdoor shower as part of the apartment's courtyard
