Strahan is a beautiful place
Our accommodation was far to expensive for what we got
I have stayed there before and it was wonderful
We will not be back!
The owners are too greedy
We would not recommend this property to any one

Strahan was a beautiful little town that had much more to offer than we were expecting. We didn't allow enough time this trip to make the most of what Strahan has to offer so we plan to return in the future to explore further!

A breath taking area but it must be remembered that this is a wilderness area and prepare accordingly. At present there is only one provision store in the town which turned out to be the best IGA I've been in. Great steaks from the meat department !! At the moment petrol can only be purchased at the airport.
We had an excellent trip on the Gordon River Cruise,- plenty of information provided by tour guides and a tasty buffet lunch. The views have to be experienced, from the fish farms to the ruins of the convict's dwellings on Sarah Island and dispite the changeable weather it was a trip to remember.
After disembarking a visit to the Huon Pine saw mill with free demonstration is recommended.
Sadly, our hoped for trip on the Strahan/ Queenstown Wilderness Railway was fully booked. We should have booked in advance for this attraction as we had done for the river cruise. It should be noted that at the time of our visit (March 2024) part of the tracks were closed for repair and 2 trips were on offer, one originating in Strahan, the other shorter one is from Queenstown.
Although we self catered there were plenty of eateries available in the town.

A lovely west coast stopover.
A lovely west coast stopover. Morning World Heritage Cruise on the Gordon River was excellent; well worth it. The locals clearly love this place and several we spoke to have come various parts of the country (and beyond) to enjoy its beauty and get involved in retelling his rich history. Even NRMA have done a strategic investment in this quaint village.
There is a laundromat at Strahan Village car park which was quite handy; lovely chats with friendly locals and fellow travellers while we waited was a bonus.

A beautiful village in a stunning location!
A beautiful village in a stunning location! Our third visit and always a highlight of a holiday in Tasmania, especially the boat cruise on the Macquarie Harbour and Gordon river. Just the drive there (whichever way you go) is magnificent!
I was warmly welcomed upon arrival in reception and shown all the sights of Strahan on a map. Parking was easily accessible next to our villa. The location was very quiet and only a 20 minute walk to the town centre.
Our room was spacious, heated, neat, well equipped with all kitchen utensils & cooking facilities, large bathroom, comfortable bed and everything was very clean.
Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
The location was excellent - right on the water. The Reception staff were extremely friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable about local attractions, amenities and places to eat. The hotel upgraded us to a King Studio for our anniversary. 100%, wholeheartedly, recommend this hotel - a wonderful boutique hotel. You will not be disappointed.
The property is well located on the cove near the center of Strahan and is very quiet. The room we had was more like a suite with living, cooking and eating area, so there was lots of room to spread out. Our room had a very nice view of the water. The restaurant served surprisingly good food for lodging in such a remote location.
This was a dreamy and dreamlike place at the same time. Nestlled in the beautiful setting of Tasmanian wilderness, there is a beautiful garden, a big room with kitchen and everything. Also the WIFI and the shower were good. Excellent accomodation 5 Mins driving from Ocean Beach and Strahan town center. Could not be much better....
amazing house with heaps of space, fantastic views across Macquarie Harbour and only a couple of minutes to Strahan. Our girls loved the outdoor play equipment and rated it as their favourite place to stay in all of Tasmania! Susan was also amazing and gave great information about the area and restaurants! 😀
The property is beautiful, very spacious, luxury is the word that comes to mind. We wanted for nothing (other than 2 wine glasses!) Beautiful finishes, fixtures and fittings. Everything is quality. covered off street parking a bonus. Highly recomend this to visitors to Strahan. Thanks!
Nice and clean & cosy place to stay heating was good for rainy cold nights & days. Beds were comfy. Although it is not on the water front but not too far away if you wanted to walk. We had a great stay for a short 2 nights it suited our family of 4 well. We would stay again
Spacious, warm, well equipped for self catering, comfortable and Vicky was a superb host both friendly, helpful and informative. Quick response to any question. Location was quiet and had a lovely view across the harbour.
We would definitely return if re-visiting Strahan
Fantastic location in Strahan walking distance to main attractions and local supermarket
Very clean, neat and tidy.
Service was great
Spacious apartment for a family and basics cooking facilities with bbq and laundry facilities
Would definitely recommend and stay again!
Very historic property recently bought by new owners (ex covid) with the intention of restoring it to its former glory. It has all the bones of a fantastic boutique hotel and some of common rooms are really nice ie lounge with fireplace. Staff were great.
Even the look of the room is not as fancy, but it actually quiet comfortable , you can park right next to the building that you stay, room size is generously big. Could be really good for family. Have cooking facilities which is very handy.
Very impressive renovated, historic property in beautiful surroundings. Very friendly and helpful staff member. Breakfast was a delight with lovely pastries. Well located in Strahan for wandering around town and walking to the falls.
Very comfortable cottage outside the main centre of Strahan. Very good cooking facilities and heating via the gas fire place effective. Other cottages on the block are a bit run down and don't seem to be in use.
- Nice view outside the family studio window
- Within easy reach to the great Hogarth Falls (1.4 km) walk
- The continental brekky had a good selection of cereals but don't feel enough milk was provided
You feel very safe here because the Strahan Police Station is right next door! It is a big place with MANY cabins. The whole place is neat clean and well-kept. The cabin is clean and comfy.
Friendly staff & a great location. The room was a good size and was very comfortable, close to the local Pub & Restaurant, I definitely recommend it if you visit Strahan
