    A wonderful place!

A wonderful place! Well worth visiting for its natural beauty, walks and wildlife. Also very well organised with shuttle around the park and to major walking tracks. Definitely worth visiting ng Waldheim for the history of the place

Love the walks at Cradle Mountain.

Love the walks at Cradle Mountain. We went to devils@cradel which was so interesting. Really recommend it but keep your hands out of the devil enclosures! Bring warm clothes - lots of layers is best. We were there end of Feb and it was cold at night and early morning. We had a wild wombat just amble by, eating as it went.

Shuttle buses run frequently to the shores of Dove Lake, making it a must-see mountain resort in Tasmania for easy day-hiking. It's also great to be able to see wombats up close around Ronny Creek. If you have a national park pass, you can buy a shuttle bus ticket valid for 72 hours for $15, so we recommend staying near the visitors centre for 3 to 4 nights.

A lot of walks have well maintained paths so most people can use them. The scenery is fantastic but beware, be prepared, the weather can be very good one minute and cold and wet the next. Pay for the shuttle bus, it makes life easier.

Cradle Mountain is a long way from Hobart.

Cradle Mountain is a long way from Hobart. Don't go the Queenstown route - it takes forever. Go via Launceston. The National Park is gorgeous. Use the boardwalk to hike up to the Creek. It's quiet and right there in the middle of the bush. We saw wallabies, birds and snakes. We hiked up to the Boat House and then used the shuttle bus back to the bus stop by our hotel. The shuttles are every 5-10 minutes. The rangers are great.

Beautiful sceneries and lots of nature walks to go on.

Beautiful sceneries and lots of nature walks to go on. Has waterfalls and Dove Lake too. You get a three day pass to the mountain, so should make at least a 2 nights if not 3 nights stay. We went in summer, early January, and it can get quite hot in the early to late afternoon. But it is all worth it. Good place to spot wildlife like wombats at Ronny Creek and Wallabies at your accommodation like Cradle Mountain Highlanders or Peppers Lodge.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Highlanders. Gorgeous rustic cabins with kitchen facilities, combustion heater, huge bathroom and comfy bed. We bought some food at Launceston and put it in a cooler bag for the trip to Cradle Mountain as we had heard that groceries are pretty expensive at the general store there. We stayed at Cradle Mountain Lodge 10 years ago but much prefer the privacy and rustic decor at The Highlanders cabins. We would definitely stay again if we came back to Cradle Mountain. 10 out of 10.

This is the place to stay when visiting Cradle Mountain National Park. Our room was of good size and the shared kitchen and bathroom s were reached by walking under a covered walkway. The kitchen was very large with plenty of equipment to prepare your own food. Two refrigerators were available for food storage. The gas heater in the kitchen was awesome on cold nights and mornings. The visitor center and shuttle bus to hiking trails was a 6 minute walk from the camp office.

We were placed in an end room, we had Padymelons and Echidnas walking past the glass doors. Plenty of space in the rooms, warm and cozy rooms, shower pressure was amazing. Close to cradle mountain and the ranger station. Very nice little walks around the Hotel and nature everywhere. Great buffet breakfasts and dinners and even the bar menu was great. Close and convenient to the Cradle Mountain Tavern if you needed change of scenery. Very friendly staff and happy to help.

Our family of three absolutely loved our stay at the Cradle Mountain Highlanders. It was our favourite accommodation whilst in Tassie. It was very clean and well appointed. Excellent cooking facilities. The beds were super comfortable. The cabins are spaced well appart with trees all around with wildlife literally at your doorstep. It was such a peaceful, private place to stay, so quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

The gorgeous spa room we stayed in was delightful, so comfortable, cosy and quiet. The magnificent nature walks at cradle Mountain and surrounds were stunning. The restaurant food was delicious and staff were all just so friendly. Also well worth treating ourselves at the day spa where the staff and treatments were superb. Highly recommend staying at peppers at cradle Mountain. Lyn and Rob Robinson

Beautifully located cottages in the middle of the forest. Lovely staff. Clean, comfortable interiors. Our cottage had a balcony facing the forest. There was a huge spa bath in the middle of the room and a window daybed, both with a view of the forest. The hotel lounge was very pleasant, and we enjoyed the happy hour next to the fireplace there and the view of the cradle mountain.

Loved the privacy and comfort of the cabin with the wilderness of Cradle Mountain close by. What a sensational place - one of the most beautifule places I have ever been. It's a quick walk from the cabins to the ranger station and the Cradle Mountain bus service to get to Dove Lake, from where the world heritage wilderness can be accessed - for a quick walk or a grand trek.

It is quiet, the cabins are well spread out, and it’s located so closed to the visitor centre. The cabin we stayed in is spacious, clean and has everything we need to keep us warm and snug. tThe kitchen is very well equipped so we could cook our meals. Dianne was very welcoming and the gentleman staff was very nice to teach us how to lit the wood fire.

Dining room had great food for dinner and an excellent buffet for breakfast. Saw Wallabys, Paddymelons, Wombats all over the grounds. Overall, an amazing stay.

We had an upgrade into the two bedroom deluxe cabins which are new. The underfloor heating was a lovely addition on the cold mornings. The cabin is fantastic and had all we needed, very comfortable. Easy to walk to the bus for Cradle Mountain and staff were super friendly and helpful.

Gorgeous setting and convenient to the park shuttle and to several trails practically just out the door. The breakfast buffet was outrageously good with a wide selection of items to suit any taste. The wallaby’s and wombats who visited each night were a special treat.

Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is the more expensive but premier accommodation at the Cradle Mountains. It's idyllic setting in the wilderness means that at dusk and dawn, you will see free-ranging wombats and padymelons outside your room.

Really? It's Cradle Mountain. The most expensive stay of our trip but so worth it. We did a couple of amazing hikes. The cabin was great and it was only expensive because it was just the 2 of us for 2 bedrooms...
