Beautiful city with so much old world charm, beautiful views, excellent restaurants (Osteria Tumelin Levanto was our favorite), bakeries, and coffee shops. Perfect location if you're visiting Cinque Terre - just a 5 minute train ride to the first of the towns but much less congested.

Best place as base for exploring Cinque Terre, mostly if you came from the north. A quiet town with great access to the rail station, the ships' harbor, mani nice restaurants and wonderful beach.

If you are walking the Cinque Terre, then Levanto is the ideal location. You get the train travel at a reduced price as you are just inside the region, the trains are quite regular and quick. Its handy if you want to go further up the coast to Portofino or down the coast to Pisa and beyond. Its a proper town, so has all the things you need (supermarket, pharmacies etc) unlike the actual Cinque Terre towns which are crowed with day tourists and mostly cater to their needs. We had a great stay here, lots of choice in restaurants would be more than happy to return if we had the time.

We chose Levanto because we wanted lodging to be in a relatively flat area but as close to the Cinque Terre cities as possible. The town itself is charming with lots of restaurant options. The people we met were friendly and helpful. Given the 5 cities of Cinque Terre, we allowed ourselves 5 nights and 4 full days - probably a day or 2 too long. It was easy to use the hop-on, hop-off boat and get a great view of the cities from the water. Travel to those cities by train was easy but crowded in mid September.

Nice village, whit nice beaches, I took a quick swim at afternoon night and then enter quickly to the accommodation. It is possible to walk or doing bike to Bonassola. A very strategic village to join Cinque Terre.RaquelFrance

Free parking place was really great, as otherwise it would have been challenging to park for longer periods of time. Room was big and it has nice own table in the balcony which is into sunset direction (even though the mountain blocks the final sunset view as it does in all the Lavento locations in this time of the year). You could adjust the toilet and room temperatures perfectly yourself. Barbara was perfect host and very helpful.ErkkiFinland

This hotel has couple free parking spots which is even better (you need to have good parking skill however because some spots are really tight!!) The accommodation is quite, and easy to walk to restaurants, beaches, and the train station to start your Cinque Terre experience. Staff Judith is nice and helpful. Bed is very comfy not squeaky. Also, from Levanto beach, you have the start of the walk (3h) to Monterosso.CHIN WENFrance

From this spot you can just as easily explore Cinque Terre as any of the downtown or by the beach hotels. We were able to use the hotel bikes for free and anytime we wanted. The bike path in Levanto along the coast was beautiful. The room was nice, but a little small for a family of three. (But who wants to stay inside when visiting the Cinque Terre?) The location of the hotel was excellent, close to everything. The train station was within 5 minutes walking distance. Excellent location in the heart of the town, modern yet quaint, clean, good facilities, spacious, good air conditioning , excellent shower and comfortable. The host is very nice and helpful also! I guarantee you will not be disappointed when you book this apartment. I wish there were more apartments like this in Italy. It actually feels like Italy!

The staff couldn’t be more helpful, they recommended walks for us and hotels for the evening. Levanto is a good base for the Cinque Terre as you are at the end of the train line. Plenty of good restaurants in the town and a lot less busy than other villages.
