Port Fairy is a pretty little town.

Port Fairy is a pretty little town. I loved the historic buildings especially the timber cottages. The town is obviously cherished by its inhabitants and pride is taken in its presentation and history. There are some great places to eat in Port Fairy. We had hoped to do some walking along the path by the river and around Griffith island. My husband has Parkinson’s and uses a walker for balance. We did some walking but we’re limited because the path along the river is broken by stairs to the footbridge over the river and the start of the Griffith island path is wonderful but deteriorates to rough gravel. Port Fairy is an historic and beautiful little town with some gorgeous heritage houses. We stayed at the Oak & Anchor which we highly recommend. The surrounding areas and beaches are beautiful with great walking paths around the heads. Well worth a visit.

Port Fairy is a great place to visit - especially if you appreciate a very good golf course. The town has great historical interest and is well appointed for tourists. This part of Victoria is very exposed to the weather so the traveller needs to check the weather in advance and take clothes to suit.

Port fairy is a beautiful, quiet and very much upmarket town with excellent shops, cafes and one or two good looking restaurants. There are peaceful, interesting nature walks and a picturesque wharf and boardwalk. Gorgeous!

We visited Port Fairy as part of a drive along the Great Ocean Road in November 2023. We really loved the place. Very walkable. We particularly enjoyed the waterfront along the Moyne River and the wildlife on Griffiths Island. Had a lovely and good value meal at Alexo Pizza and Bistro (and the robot waiter was a real novelty). My wife said the coffee and cake at the Mill (across the road from Alexo) was some of the best she had ever tasted. The East Beach was miles of glorious sand. Would have loved to stay longer, but we had to get to Hall’s Gap in the Grampians. We did stop at nearby Tower Hill on the way north, but didn’t really have time to do that justice. Can’t wait to visit again, but not sure when that will be as we live thousands of miles away in the UK.

A very welcoming place - beautifully renovated and designed with both warmth and practicality in mind. Exceptional personalised service throughout our stay - including delicious breakfasts in the stunning dining room and a dinner there one night also - we were able to bring along two local guests who were very impressed with all the dishes and drinks and especially the friendly, knowledgeable service. We will all be recommending the Drift Hotel as an incredible place to stay in Port Fairy. 5 Stars all round 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This accommodation exceeded our expectations. A little bit of country nestled a hop, skip, and jump from the main center of Port Fairy. Clean and cozy with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. Every channel you could wish for on the television. Cooking facilities with everything required. Llamas and cows to wake up to, honestly, what more could we ask for. Beaches are a short drive with little safe coves to swim in. Our hosts were exceptionally friendly and welcoming.

We were upgraded fromy original Train Carriage booking to a mobility friendly cabin. The park is right beside the Moyne river and the environment is very quiet. Port Fairy is a great little town, and I would most certainly stay at the Pelican Waters again in future. The hosts were most accomodating for us.

I absolutely loved port fairy and so thrilled that I picked this little town to stay in and not somewhere else. It is absolutely charming and the rose of Norfolk pines are some of the best or actually the best I have seen in Australia. Full of Birdsong and wildlife. I really loved this location.
