This large, one-bedroom apartment was updated to a high-level design with great functionality. It lives like a luxury vacation home. It was one of the nicest apartments I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The common areas were also nicely updated. I wish we had had more time there. I highly recommend this hotel.

Location, location, location: We had looked for a combination of hotel and winery in walking distance to each other, and this one ticked all the boxes: you can easily walk over to Chateau Tanunda in about 15mins (and others are walkable too, if you don't mind walking 30-40mins). The hotel is part of a pub/restaurant - but the rooms are really surprising: completely new, with a rain shower, quite spacious and quiet (this being a Monday maybe, could be louder on a Friday evening).
We also enjoyed the restaurant and a glass of wine on the front porch. There's ample parking in the back. Didn't see any breakfast options, but this was rare on our trip anyways - there's a bakery nearby to help you out.

Tanunda is a lovely little town with a good selection of restaurants and shops. It has character and the locals were friendly. It has a cycle trail running through it which is good for walking and cycling. Bikes can be hired locally. Getting around was easy, we walked to dinner and took a taxi to lunch outside town at Hentley Farm.

Tanunda’s a lovely place to visit and the perfect base for winery visits. Plenty of good eateries and choice of wine cellars in Tanunda itself. Ferment Asian restaurant is lovely and the Angus burger at Char Grill was cooked to perfection. Z wines does great tropical sangria jugs. Nosh cafe is a quirky place and a bit like a tardis with very friendly staff. Krondoff cellar staff very friendly and good wine choice. Visitor centre very helpful and definitely worth visiting to check out what is on in the area.

A nice town catering for travellers to the Barossa Valley.
A nice town catering for travellers to the Barossa Valley. A typical tourist town providing accommodation and many restaurants (some of dubious quality such as Char Barossa which is to be avoided at all costs), but a pleasant place to stay all the same. Very central to many of the wineries in the region.

Perfect base to visit the many wineries around Barossa.
Perfect base to visit the many wineries around Barossa. There is an abundance of great cafes and restaurants with 1918 and Bar Musque on the top of our list for dinner and Blackbird have incredible breakfasts. Everyone from the cafes to Foodland supermarket were so friendly and the passion they have for the Barossa, vineyards, local produce and history of the area is amazing. All cellar doors were exceptional with super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bethany and Rockfords were outstanding. A visit to Maggie Beers Farm shop and the Chocolate Factory is also recommended and very enjoyable to relax and appreciate the surrounds. Easy cycling around Tanunda to enjoy the scenery at closer range was a lot of fun. Wonderful location with plenty more on offer than noted above.

Tanunda and Angaston are both beautiful towns.
Tanunda and Angaston are both beautiful towns. Good food, good wine and beautiful scenery. Strongly suggest Casa Caboni for a great authentic Italian meal. The Clubhouse accomodation was very modern, spacious and a guaranteed great night's sleep. Good dining facilities available for lunch and dinner. Breakfast isn't available but there are plenty of cafe options close by. Wineries are also great. Gibson and Willow are well worth a look (and taste). Best of all you don't have to buy a flight. You can drink what you like! 10/10
Charming cottages in a delightful garden setting. Disappointment of room allocation aside, it is a matter of perspective, after all; grounds are pristine, the room is large and comfortable, with air-con (we needed it) a good sized bathroom and all you need to be self sufficient. A generous selection of breads, fruit, jams, cheese and a complimentary bottle of bubbles provided. Very short drive to Tanunda and on the doorstep of the Barossa. We ate in the Beer Barrel garden of the Tanunda Hotel - pretty good.
The house was spacious and beautifully appointed in a quiet location. We were about an 8-minute walk into the main street of Tanunda. There was air con throughout, to make it comfortable on a warm day. The gardens were stunning - we enjoyed sundowners whilst playing Quoits and Finska. Our daughter stayed with us and there was plenty of room for all of us. Great to have two bathrooms available so that we could use one, whilst our daughter had the other to herself.
The provisions for breakfast were wonderful. We had plenty for our needs but thought it was a nice touch that we only had to contact Tina if we wanted more.
The location was awesome, close to wineries and the Township of Tanunda. The lake setting was absolutely beautiful. I told my husband it reminded of the lake in The Notebook movie. Just beautiful and so relaxing.
Perfect location in Tanunda, easy walking distance to main shopping area, spectacular view of the hills, lots of room to move, great facilities, including fire pit to sit and admire the views with a nice glass of bubbles, while enjoying a BBQ. Attention to detail. House has all kitchen requirements and more. Would recommend staying at Barossa Idyll.
Warm friendly welcome from our lovely hostess , Sophia .
Great base to explore the local attractions and restaurants in Tanunda . Lovely garden entry and tastefully decorated rooms in the traditional B&B style . At the end of the day it was a homely spot to return to and enjoy a drink on the wide open verandah where breakfast was also enjoyed.
Location is perfect for wandering the main centre of Tanunda. It is really quiet yet right next to the rotunda and park. Easy to get to. I threw a load of washing in as there was washing powder and tumble dried them just cos I could!! The Makeup Hand towels were such a great thing to have so i didnt worry about if I was leaving marks.
The location was fantastic and the service was incredible. We were able to get to all of our destinations very easily and the hotel was never too far away. John at the reception desk was perfect and help set our experience well. Caitlin made the rooms feel like a home and there was nothing to fault. Thank you for everything!
Gorgeous cottages. Loved the bottlebrush in full bloom and popping next door to enjoy a wine tasting at The Underground. The staff at the cellar are related to the family and took special care of us as we sampled wines in their underground cellar. Only a short walk into town.
Fantastic in all respects! Very clean, self contained units with a front and back outdoor seating area. Washing machine, clothes line outside. Great shower pressure, lots of hot water and very quiet. A 10 minute walk to the CBD. Highly recommend this place.
The property was modern, clean and spacious. It was in a quiet area of Tanunda, not too far from shops and restaurants but too far to walk. Plenty of equipment to cook and be self sufficient for longer stays. Comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms.
The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was nice, what I'd expect from a country hotel. TV had good reception. Nice to find an extra blanket in the wardrobe. The towels were large and fluffy, as a plus sized person I love a place with good towels.
Stayed for 2 nights with my 2 children, they didn't want to leave the apartment to go for a look around Tanunda.
They just wanted to swim in the pool and relax in the spa . Was such an enjoyable stay, and will definitely think about coming back .
We loved our stay at Langmeil. Beautiful cottages with very personalized extras. The owners were lovely and the sauna and spa were a treat! Great location too. We borrowed some bikes for our stay, but could walk to the Main Street easily.
Quiet and relaxing surroundings. Excellent facilities with lots of room and space in the cottage and outside. Fantastic breakfast. While located outside the town centre, it is within easy drive to points of interest in the area.
The breakfast provisions were great and very generous. Very quiet street at night. House was very large and the driveway easy to park in. Appliances in the kitchen also functioned well and kitchen was well equipped.
Excellent location close to the Main Street of Tanunda. Enough off street parking for four cars. Nice to have basic groceries and pantry items to get us started. Firewood also available which we used each night.
Cabin had everything we needed for our time exploring Tanunda wineries and the surrounds. It was a great spot and nice and clean. I would definitely return to this accomodation. Thanks very much for having us!
