Loved the Historic Building and fittings and fixtures inside. Staff were exceptional - and very friendly - but we found this with everyone we spoke to in Merthyr Tydfil. Bed was great. Welsh Breakfast was very good too.

Definitely need a car to get around this area. Not quite the luxury I was looking for. Accomodation and breakfast where I stayed was fairly basic. Quite limited in eating out options too. Managed to walk the Pen y Fan which was the highlight of my stay here.RhondaAustralia - 10Scored 10

Nice town with some lovely places to go for a drink and a bite to eat. Friendly bar with live music at the weekend. Also there is a Wetherspoon. The Zip World was only a 30 min drive away and is fantastic. Great scenery and walks near by.

Only stayed 2 days and then was at an event so not enough time to explore. However on an evening plenty of places to eat and drink. Tesco Extra and range of other shops incl. Saturday street market. Liked the fact it has good public transport links to the Brecon Beacons the town itself looks a bit run down in places like many these days but had everything we needed with lots of things to do nearby. We enjoyed climbing Corn Du, Pen Y Fan, visiting Lyn Cwm Llwch, walking along parts of the Taff Trail, visiting The Brecon Mountain Railway, Cyfarthfa Castle and park as well as things further a field.

Great places to visit. We where only there for two nights. We enjoyed the waterfalls and the steam train ride. There are plenty of places to eat out. We saw lots of cyclists whilst traveling in our car. Found the area very dog friendly which suited us .Allison - 8.0Scored 8.0

Visited the nearby reservoir and Garwnant Visitors Centre -lovely trails and views. Also the Brecon Beacons were within easy reach. We ate at Nant Ddu the first night and shared 3 tasty side dishes between us. Not too far from 3 near locations where my Dad was born and lived in Penwhriceiber, Cefn Pennar and Mountain Ash. Well equipped gym too. No worries about parking ,ample spaces. Great base to discover South Wales. Breakfast was like a full meal, portions extra large,I had to request to decrease my items. Staff a cheerfully and happy to help. Then one thing that could be improved id say is the TV signal. Could not get a clear picture so was annoying when I couldn't watch a film at the end of the night but no big deal.

The pictures don't do it justice - it is a magnificently large space with everything we needed including parking, a washing machine and tumble dryer, bike storage, a large lounge that was good for socialising, and really close to town and Bike Park Wales. The host was lovely and met us with the keys at a time that suited us as we were riding that day. When we arrived, there were Welsh cakes, bread, butter, and milk... Thank you so much!

There was also a large screen TV with Netflix and Sky, and I believe there was a BBQ area and somewhere to lock your MTB, if you came here for Bike Park Wales. There were a good selection of breakfast items waiting for me in the kitchen along with tea and coffee. There were two electric heaters within the room which which kept it very warm.
