What an absolutely beautiful location. It was very clean and welcoming. Vicki always has a smile when she sees you and has made her little B&B a place to completely relax. From the muffins, tea, and drinks, to her home cooked breakfast of your choice, she tends to her guests’ every need. The bed was comfy, the room was tastefully decorated, and the view was spectacular. I could walk that little beach for days. We’ll be back!

The property is beautiful in what feels like the middle of nowhere. The weather was wonderful for our 3 nights stay. We were up late with the amount of sunlight we had and enjoyed beautiful sunsets walking about the property.

The location was assume and our room was excellent quite large and comfortable with a view of the water. The food was great both at breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was our favorite the food was cooked just right and the service was exceptional The location right by the water was more than we expected and the views are outstanding especially at sunset.

We enjoyed the seclusion of this property. The chalet was perfect and clean with extras such as fresh hens eggs, homemade jam, homemade pastries, milk, coffee, and tea. Karen provides a surprise for those who stay for at least four nights! Karen and John encouraged us to get out and about on their property including interacting with the days old lamb, petting the pigs, and collecting hens eggs. My husband, nicknamed Anchor Man by Karen, took him with her on the quad to check on the sheep before sunset. It was lambing season and the ewes and lambs were checked on throughout the day. They took us on a tour of their property and up to the top of the hill for awesome views. Karen and John were always available to answer questions about their work and about the area. Our four days there went too quickly! We plan to return!
May your anchors always hold fast and your boomerangs return to ye.
I love Uig. The locals were all so friendly and a wealth of information. It was easy to get around the island by car from Uig, and convienently close to the ferry (we caught it from Uig to Isle of Lewis).

We spent time in Uig because we were taking the ferry to North Uist and then again when we returned from Harris.
There are a couple of options for food- The Ferry Inn and Uig Hotel, but they need to be booked in advance, then a cafe and a bar which does takeout food at the harbour.
The brewery has a shop there, there’s a pottery and a petrol station and a small shop for food.
One interesting place we found nearby was the Museum of Island Life at Kilmuir and the cemetery next door which had a monument to Flora Macdonald and is the burial place of fashion designer Alexander McQueen!

Rather small village with only a few restaurants and you need to make reservations if you want to have dinner. If not, you can drive to Portree, which is a 20 minute drive.
Uig is nicely situated for visiting the northern part of the island of Skye.

Uig is a charming village.
Uig is a charming village. If we had more time this would have been a great base to explore the Outer Hebrides Islands (the ferries departed out of Uig) and it was really easy to get to Portree on the main road. I also discovered the Isle of Skye Brewery is located in Uig, but didn't get a chance to visit.

Uig is a quiet place, perfect as a starting point for a trip around the Isle of Sky. We had a rental car, I'm guessing getting around by bus might be a bit difficult. By car we took a tour around the island, got off where we wanted (Quiraing, The Storr, Portree, Staffin Dinosaur Beach, Fairy Glenn, view points, cafés, museums, craft shops etc.)
Next time I get there I'll also plan ahead a trip to the Outer Hebrides. Getting - or even staying - there requires a bit of planning as accomodation and ferries are heavily booked, but I'm sure it's worthwhile.

Uig is not only a perfect base to explore Skye, but it is quiet and ideal for peace and quiet after touring around to get away from the bustle of tourists.
The Uig Hotel was fantastic for dinner and the staff were lovely.
We ate in The Ferry Inn, it was exceptional. A real treat for my husband and I to have a quiet dinner. The food was excellent and the decor is lovely.
The house was dog friendly, with very little to tempt our young puppy to misbehave. The location was convenient for exploring most of Skye. We particularly liked the Faerie Glen and the beach near Staffin. The kitchen is good. We had no trouble self catering for our family of four plus two dogs. The larger CoOp on the edge of Portree had most things we wanted and the local grocery store in Uig had a decent range too. The beds were comfortable. All in all, a fine base for a week outdoors.
Adele’s chalet is located on a brave near the Uig Ferry. We had a lovely time watching “ Ferry TV” through the large picture window in the great room. There is no perceivable noise from the port. The accommodations were contemporary, clean and an easy drive to the Fairy Dell, Fairy Pools and many of the other sights on the Isle of Skye. We were fortunate to have a fully equipped kitchen to make supper, there were no bookings available for supper on the Island.
Great location, situated on a hill overlooking Uig harbor, very peaceful but still has spectacular views of the sea sky and mountains. Only a stones throw from the Quiraing which is a must see spot. George
is really friendly and was keen to help in any way he could. Basic toiletries plus tea and biscuits were provided as well as towels and extra blankets. Great value for money and hopefully we'll be back soon!
The location was good. There was one restaurant walking distance away. The island is very drivable in a day and we did have a car so being central to anything wasn’t too important.
I was led to believe, with photos and the name of the cottage, that we would have some lovely water views but those views were minimal. From the upstairs bedrooms you could see the sea which was across the road and out a bit.
We loved having a washer/dryer after a particularly wet and muddy hike.
The entire house was clean and comfortable with everything we needed.
It was a good location at the north end of Skye, in Uig. We enjoyed great meals at the Uig Hotel and the Bakur restaurant, and at Rankins supermarket we found all the food and supplies we needed for our stay.
Vicki truly thought of everything, there wasn’t a thing we could think of that she didn’t already have available all the way down to the tiny little details. She was absolutely lovely and her breakfast menu and treats in the room were divine. One of our most favorite places we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying and the VIEW was absolutely stunning.
absolutely everything. the care and attention that went into everything was amazing. fresh juices, cakes, amazing breakfast, wee fridge for drinks, decor, just everything was perfect. Vicki was a warm and attentive host who couldn’t do enough. Felt more like a 5 star hotel experience than a b&b.
The location is amazing, overlooking the Uig harbor. Perfect for hiking the northern part of Skye. The little place was tight, but cozy for a family of four. George was very accommodating for our late check in and he left us bread, milk, eggs, jam and some candies in the cupboard.
We had everything we needed provided and more. There was a fridge with milk, yogurts and water plus bread, croissants and a toaster. Plenty of parking space.
Lovely and quiet area and close to Uig ferry.
About 20 mins to Portree where you can get an evening meal.
Skye Holiday Chalets is in a great location if you need to take the ferry out of Uig. It also backs up to a pretty view of a field - the first night of our stay, someone (or a recording) was playing bagpipes across the fields and it was a fun touch of Scotland.
super friendly hosts; great room and breakfast, great
location (so long as with car 🚗), busy bird table in the
garden, and very helpful when I needed a restaurant
reservation when all seemed closed ( thanks, folks!).
Beautiful place. Great view from the house. Clean, comfrtable and with a great kitchen to cook maels. Adele the owner is so nice and helpful and Uig is a great town to stay in, when you are in Skye.
Location is wonderful with views of Uig Harbour. House is comfy and well resourced. Only negative was one bathroom with electric shower which never throws out much water. Great holiday though.
Everything was great and exceeded my expectations!
If your going to Uig you must stay here!
Shirley and Neil are very welcome to have you in they’re home which is Immaculate!
The location was beautiful, and the host was so friendly and helpful. He drove us to the ferry in Uig the next morning, which was above and beyond what we expected.
Beautiful home in an idyllic landscape. Lots of nice touches, wonderful food and other accommodations. Viv and Steve are absolutely charming and generous hosts.
