The walk from the San Pellegrino pass to rifugio fuciada is fantastic as it is pretty flat, not too far (8 km round trip approx) and can be done with snow boots even in Dec/Jan. The scenery of the mountains and warm atmosphere, drinks and food of the rifugio make it an fabulous winter walk. Busses are available from Moena to the pass.

Moena is fantastic place in the beautiful Dolomites - it is not on the doorstep of the skiing resorts, but a short transfer (15min) will take you to the most common ones - San Pellegrino area being our favourite. While not being on the doorstep of skiing, it has the advantage that you can try out different areas, all with different characteristics.

The city is surrounded by beautiful nature and allows for so many activities. In the evening there are plenty of restaurants from affordable to expensive. We tried both and never got disappointed. There is a free parking in the residence where you can leave the car and walk directly to the places around, literally walking distance to San Pellegrino lake, 2 funiculars and and many tracks. Moena town is just 10 minutes away. Very close to wonderful other places around by car. I would highly recommend Chiara’s apartment to anyone! The apartment is lovely and neat clean, with beautiful views on the mountain. Conveniently, there are also a coffee shop and a restaurant in the residence.

Evening meals was a choice of 3 different courses and breakfast was a generous buffet. Free parking at the side of the hotel.

The breakfast buffet was great- many delicious choices, and the spa area was wonderful. We used the sauna and Turkish bath almost every day. The dinner in the hotel was also delicious , the staff was wonderful and helpful. Car parking was conveniently right outside the hotel.
