The hotel is situated on the edge of the stunning Radda in Chianti. Beautifully perched overlooking beautiful rolling Tuscan hills. It retails a real rustic feel but the service levels are good.
They also run wine tours or can manage bespoke requests about wine tastings or tours.
Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards in the heart of the Chianti region, Castello di Volpaia offers rustic rooms and a apartment with a kitchen and free Wi-Fi.

We love the Tuscan countryside and this hotel is way in the country! It is a rustic, charming, large farmhouse that has been modernized in the rooms, but kept authentic in the common areas. The owner, Christina, is simply amazing! She is busy running a winery, a farm and a hotel, but she always takes time for a wine tasting, advice and just conversation. Our room looked out onto fields, hills and sheep in a distant pasture. The hotel is close to Panzano, an easy ten minute drive, which is home to some amazing restaurants and a great winery Il Molino di Grace. If you are lucky, Christina will agree to cook dinner for all guests who are interested. We had guinea fowl, duck and chicken and it was one of the highlights of our trip. This place is not to be missed!

Radda was such an enchanting little town with the most amazing views of the Tuscan countryside. Great restaurants and lots of wonderful little shops to browse in and close to 300 wineries within a 20 minute drive. The Spa at Vignavecchia was absolutely wonderful and the underground thermal pool at palazzo Leopoldo was divine!

It’s such a gorgeous area to explore.
It’s such a gorgeous area to explore. Lots of ancient villages, wineries and stunning scenery! I love Castello di Volpaia. This village has beautiful affordable rooms and apartments and a winery all within its walls. It’s small and unique with four great places to eat.

. Small compact village, with nice array of shops, noticeably helpful shop owners. Plenty of restaurants, particularly given the small village size. Close to rail (about 20 km) which makes it easy to get into Florence.
Close to places like San Giminiano and Siena.

Stefano the general manager was outstanding in his customer service- he even drove me to the town of Radda to shop & enjoy the sites - Dimitsia (not sure I’m spelling that correctly)but she was an angel & helped me in numerous ways- the head waiter & staff Andrea & Veronica were awesome every time I had dinner there - the breakfasts were quite varied and had both the bacon I adore & the yogurt & fruit I needed - it really was a sumptuous spread & Francesca & her crew were wonderful- just an all-Around fabulous place to hang your hat for a week or even a weekend!! Thanks to all of you for making my stay wonderful - many thanks!

Radda is a postcard village for the Chianti region perched on a hilltop with great views. We visited about 15 years ago, and it seems as though it has become ever more touristy and the entire town is one big tourist stop which lacks the authenticity that it may once have been. It's lovely, but almost too lovely and manufactured.

We travelled for one month across Italy and this was our favourite hotel! We love it so much! Amazing view, beautiful house and rooms, lovely pool in the garden but most importantly our host, Giudo who made our stay so special! Guido made us feel at home, was very helpful, made reservations for us in different restaurants, suggested places to visit. He went above and beyond being a regular host to the point that we decided to stay one more night to spend more time in a beautiful La Locanda (beautifully located and detailed-restored).
Great location just outside of Radda in Chianti. 5 min walk along side of road to get into center of the town. Wonderful host Romanita was available to answer questions. She even left us a half liter of chianti to enjoy on arrival. Breakfast could be purchased and served in the garden - and Romanita made the bread and cake herself. Wonderful panoramic view of the valley from the window and ground around the room. Free parking a short distance away.
The property is beautiful and the owner and his daughter are lovely hosts. We were only there for a night but appreciated all they had created there. The restaurant was not open that night but the breakfast was great and they got us a great dinner reservation at a town nearby. You can see how much they care about the property and making it special and also creating great wine. Their winemaker was just voted the best winemaker in Italy.
Great location, beautiful house and Christina is a very friendly and lively host who will interact with you and make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible. The place lies in an old vinyard and is therefore very quiet and a good place to relax. The region around it is wonderful with a beautiful landscape and many beautiful Tuscan towns to visit. The wine produced on-site is also very good.
My stay was fantastic but only for 2 nights. I was researching hotels and cycling in the area. Radda is a great village to be based in. I wish I had more time at the hotel where I could have explored the pool/spa areas but it was late October. I plan on using this hotel in the future for our cycling groups.
It was a pretty hotel (old Tuscan village apartments/rooms) with lovely views from the hotel and the swimming pool. We were upgraded to a larger room on arrival.
One lady at reception was very helpful when we were trying to book a wine tasting and was patient when I attempted to speak a little Italian.

All the staffs were welcome and helpful. My room was so specious and classic with a beautiful view. The hotel location was good. There are many choices for the breakfast. I really liked the wine tasting machine next to the lobby. I’d like to stay longer next time.
Huge bedrooms in the apartment and a great setting for a hotel surrounded by vineyards and fields. Location is superb, but Radda in Chianti is not within walking distance. There is a fox that visits the hotel most days and is an added attraction.
This hotel and its grounds is absolutely beautiful, every detail has been thought out. The interior and exterior are perfect, photos cannot do it justice. Wine tasting was the highlight of our trip, thanks to the amazing staff and delicious wine.
Very beautiful hotel. Very peacful and calming. The pool and spa are great. The staff is very nice and welcoming. There is free parking at the property. Breakfast was fine, a bit pricey for what you get (16 euro), but it was ok.
