The Hot Pools are a great drawcard, always popular.
The Hot Pools are a great drawcard, always popular. Some great restaurants, cafes and bars. Lots of trees, provide welcome shade in summer. Plenty of walking and cycling tracks. Water sports - rafting, jet boats, fishing etc. Craft market on a Saturday. Always a busy place for locals and tourists, so book early.

The Mountain View’s were beautiful and the walking track...
The Mountain View’s were beautiful and the walking track varied from easy to difficult. The town was very pleasant, clean and well taken care of. The pools were wonderful and especially enjoyed being able to swim laps in the big pool which was never crowded. Overall it was a very pleasant place for a vacation

Hanmer Springs is lovely.
Hanmer Springs is lovely. This motel overpriced, cheap and nasty. False advertising using "premium".
Hanmer is popular but don't resort to booking at this motel if you find others booked out.

Nice small village with plenty to do.
Nice small village with plenty to do. Many walking and bike trails, nice shops and the Thermal pools were great for all ages. Plenty to keep families amused.
The whole town had a nice vib.
The down side would have to be the cost of eating out at the cafes and restaurants.

Great thermal pools.
Great thermal pools. My wife booked had two sessions in the spa rooms - a facial and a massage - while she was doing that I ventured on the new waterslides (at the age of 71) - they are now included in your admission charge. As we we were staying for two nights, we booked a two day ticket to the pools, this is good value and it's great to be able to pop to the pools early in the morning when there are fewer people around.
One evening we had a good meal at the Hanmer Springs Hotel (where we stayed), the second night we tried the Spice Village Indian restaurant, which I thoroughly recommend.
Great lunch one day at the Powerhouse cafe - by far the best cafe in Hanmer in my opinion.
We also went on the quad bikes at Hanmer Attractons - we were able to choose a quad buggy which is a two-person vehicle. This is well organised, with an instructor/guide who puts the emphasis on safety.
Good location, great views of the snowy mountains, cosy cabins providing everything you need, bunk beds were comfy, good 🚿 pressure, kitchen was perfect and dining/tv room. Unfortunately we were in the cabin by reception and dirty diesel vehicles kept stopping right outside our cabin with their vehicles running (noisy and polluting). This Top 10 is within walking distance to hot pools and everything in Hanmer Springs and we found it good value for money!
Nice location about a five minute drive from the spa area. There are forest walks in the preserve across the street from the holiday park that lead to town (about a twenty minute walk). This is an older property, but the owners have put a lot of effort into the rooms and the shared toilets are clean with plenty of hot water. The kitchenette in our room was well-equiped. There was a shared larger kitchen and a laundry, neither of which we used.
Lovely modern and comfortable accommodation in park-like grounds. The owners are super nice people who make you feel at home and will go out of their way to be helpful. I liked it so much that I came back for a few more nights. I've stayed in 3 other Hanmer Springs hotels/motels previously and this is my favourite. Also the best value for money.
A wonderful place to stay with a beautiful panoramic view of Hanmer Springs from the balcony of our room. We could not have had any friendlier welcome from our hosts. It is just a short walk to the central part of town. Breakfast was typical New Zealand with fruits, cereals, toast and coffee or tea.
The reception manager personally escorted me to our room, which was a nice touch, and offered us towels to use at the Hanmer Spa.
Parking spaces were wide.
Once inside we were greeted by chocolates laid against a pinecone arrangement on the bed, and tasteful décor.
These are the best Motels we have stayed at in Hanmer, We have stayed there before. Always feels welcome and they provide a good service. We do like being able to grab towels for the hot pools - this saves us trying to dry our own overnight
Hanmer Springs Hotel is in a wonderful location. We were able to walk to the hot pools and around the town. The onsite restaurant was great for Happy Hour, dinner and breakfast. The room was spacious and comfortable.
Space for the kids to play. Well equipped kitchen. Great selection of movies to watch when it was wet. Cabins had good set out with space for bags and gear and plenty of hooks to hang towels and jackets.
Loved the kitchen and cooking facilities. Under floor heating was a bonus. Shower was amazing. Pillows were great…not hard like most motels. Bed was clean and warm. Sky channels were good
Absolutely stunning room and bathroom, just pure luxury. Will definitely re visit. We had terrible weather but the hotel was fantastic and having a lovely spa outside was just heaven.
Our room was immaculate and had everything we needed for a short break away. I loved the fact that there was a mini kitchen in our room. Underfloor heating was a real luxury.
The position of the hotel was convenient and it being a heritage building was wonderful. The gardens and scenery were beautiful. The staff were very friendly and obliging.
