Seafront location and the fact that it was advertised having a champagne bar (spoiler - not really).
The promised luxury is all superficial - the stuff that matters (bathroom, heat pump, TV, reception) was lacking severely.
Situated in Kaikoura, a few steps from Kaikoura Beach, Sudima Kaikōura features accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a restaurant.

Being centrally located also made it incredibly convenient for us to explore the area and visit nearby attractions, with many popular sights and attractions just a short walk or drive away.
Overall, the combination of the friendly staff and fabulous location made our stay at the hotel truly memorable. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and we look forward to returning in the future.

The ages of our group hadn't been past on to them but they had a plan if it was teenagers, nothing was too much for them. Location is great along the water, playground close by if needed, easy drive to supermarket if you needed to, good sized rooms, kids and adults were happy here. On a side note, our preschoolers left behind their soft toys (they had put them back to bed cos they were tired), cleaning staff found them, rang us and then "babysat" the toys for a week till we were passing through again. Nothing was a hassle, thank you!

Location was perfect for walking to the Seal Colony along the path and the beach . The front Desk hours were very limited and the breakfast left a bit to be desired . But the location and the quaint courtyard make up for its downfalls.

Enjoyed the whale watching tour - the day was reasonably calm so no one was seasick thank goodness. Staff were informatiive and shared the story of the whales and dolphins. The map showing us the travel route was very helpful to understand the trnech and which direction and area we were headed to.

Kaikoura is a 2 hr drive from our home, so we regularly visit for long weekends. It's a special part of NZ where people and nature can interact. There's something special about how the mountains meet the sea. And of course the fresh seafood is spectacular

WhaleWatch trip was very good.
WhaleWatch trip was very good. Great cafes: Flo and Co has excellent coffee. Sime's Kitchen had great breakfast and lunch - vegan choices were delicious. Tipsy Foodies also recommended. Southern Paua shop and factory highly recommended - amazing range of jewellery, carvings and gifts. Some exquisite pounamu too. Best place to buy gifts in Kaikoura!!
Novel Findings is a great bookshop and homewares shop - don't miss it!
Loved the Ngāi Tahu artworks beside the highway, murals on the railway bridge and buildings. It's really worth checking the "Neat Places Kaikoura" website - lots of great suggestions for cool places and things to do in Kaikoura.

Very easy to find way to attractions, town lovely and clean.Plenty of eating places, ones we used were all excellent and value for money.Only thing we regretted was we missed the Whale Watch tour as it was blowing hard both full days we were there and there were no sailings. Will have to go back again.
The house is in a quiet landscape with surrounding grassland with cows, sheep, rabbits. Aspects that really stand out include the views- the mountains behind the house, the sun rising over the ocean in front of the house, and the house itself, which is large, with an upstairs loft bedroom and very comfortable living room downstairs. Indigo has furnished and decorated it beautifully. We really enjoyed her friendly hospitality. Kaikoura is nearby with fine walks and restaurants.
Beautiful room with a stunning ocean view. The hotel staff were very accommodating as it was a 30th birthday weekend away, we arrived to a chocolate platter in the room with a welcoming hand writ note, the hotel offered to arrange a cake for our stay, which I declined but was very pleased with the level of customer service. The room was large, tidy and appeared very clean. Overall really pleased we picked the Sudima Kaikōura
Luke and Kylie were fabulous hosts, Luke greeted us and gave us great tip on a hiking trail that we did the day after our arrival. We saw hundreds of fur seals, got a great workout and a wonderful lunch at the Pier Hotel.
The place has a great view, walking distance to town and rail line.
Kylie even drove us to the station on day of departure. Would highly recommend this property.
We chose the hotel for its location and were thrilled with our choice. The front desk was staffed with very helpful people and the front office manager on duty for much of the time we were there was a delightful personality.
We were also particularly impressed by the member of staff running the breakfast room: she was very thoughtful.
This is a luxury apartment. Lovely to have a coffee machine and percolator. Very well equipped, although, aside from breakfast, we ate out. Comfortable king bed and two very spacious bathrooms. Enjoyed reading on the balcony. Walked into centre of town and also in other direction to the Pier Hotel so well-centred.
Our flight was delayed for a day so we had to cancel the room on the checkin date which should be charged.
The hotel well understood us and agreed to waive this fee. Thank you for prompt response and support.
We will choose your hotel again in our next trip to NZ.
Absolute awesome place the cabins were great nice showers staff were great we were probably noisy so we didn't make it easy for them but they were great we turned music down because we didn't want them to kick us out but I highly Recommend A1 Motels kaikoura
Very warm, friendly, cosy hostel. Quiet, nice rooms, clean spacious kitchen, nice addition of a fireplace when it was cold and raining outside. Great outdoor space to relax in, and very well located near the town's shops and the ocean. Cheap laundry too!
The location was great, but it was somewhat hard to find. This is a full on hostel that happens to have a couple of private double rooms. The location in the morning was spectacular! Near the beach and views of the Kaikoura Mountains with snow caps!
Easy access from the main highway. Comfortable room and clean. Friendly reception and helpful with some further information on attractions at Kaikoura. We booked several other motels from the same Bella Vista group as we were very happy.
location next to the pier hotel is brilliant (best place for crayfish dinner in Kaikoura and always busy). Beds were super comfortable and the overall facilities are great. Hosts were extremely friendly and accomodating.
Judy was an excellent host and we really enjoyed the stay. The place is very near to everything with amazing views. She provided us amazing breakfast and we would highly recommend Judy’s place when you are in Kaikoura
Beautiful place to stay. Great space for 2 adult's and 3 teenagers. Right across the road from the beach and a short walk to the shops. Loved Kaikoura will definitely be back to stay at the White Morph.
Excellent communication from the Kaikoura Waterfront Apartments team. Delighted to find an incredibly clean, warm, and well appointed two bedroom apartment with views of the water. Highly recommend.
Sue and Faith, front of house...you both need bottling up and sending to a few hotels/motels I've stayed in previously! So welcoming and friendly, an asset to this motel without a doubt!
