I have stayed here before. It is very convenient to my family who live in Eastwood. I am welcomed warmly. The room is well set up for me to cater basically for myself. I did take some warm rugs from home which I needed.

Bairnsdale is a large country town. The Catholic Church as you you enter from the Melbourne side on the left is definitely worth a visit. A volunteer is available and has a wealth of information in relation to the church and history of the area. Not to be missed.
There are plenty of shops, the Potted Pear, gift wares, is great.
There are museums, historical and Aboriginal.
Bairnsdale is a lovely place for a day visit.

Typical Australian town which is busy during the day and completely dead at night. Felt quite safe to walk around early evening but can't comment on late evening. All usual shops available.
We ate at the Cow & Fish Pub which was excellent for food but lacked soft furnishings in the dining area. Felt it was a bit like a social club rather than a hotel/restaurant.
Very convenient for us as travelling down to Paynesville and Lakes Entrance which is only a 25 minute drive away. Also played golf at Metung Country Club which was excellent including lunch at the club house.

Our stay was way too short.
Our stay was way too short. Bairnsdale allows you the perfect location to explore the region.
You have to try the Thai restaurant Cinnamon, it was amazing and the flavours are on point.
We ventured to Metung and Lakes Entrance and could have easily done multiple days at both locations.

RSL served us the wrong order steak that was boot leather.
RSL served us the wrong order steak that was boot leather. surrounding cafes served overpriced meals. A lot of foot traffic around left us not leaving doors unlocked. We used it as a destination for the hotel. And that is where it ended. however we only stayed one night.

The Mitchel River Tavern is an interesting place to stay.
The Mitchel River Tavern is an interesting place to stay. Close to the centre of Bairnsdal, it has comfortable accommodation, a Bistro, Barm, Club and off-street parking.
Staff were helpful and checkin and out was fast and relaxed.
Previously known as Kansis City the motel is showing its age - BUT despite that the new owner was most welcoming and already started on the needed upgrades. It has the best location in Bairnsdale being on the main road in the center of the city. Sure, there quite a few things to do but if you are looking the most convenient central site in the city and needing a comfortable, quiet night you should consider the Castle (previously the Kansas City)
From the outset of our arrival at the hotel the reception staff was amazing and friendly with the welcoming and Check in process. He was very efficient and very friendly in his manner. The room was presented extremely well. It was very clean and spacious for our needs. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom/shower facilities were modern and practical. We enjoyed our stay and will stay there again on our next visit to Bairnsdale.
Exceptional customer service, we were welcomed with friendly staff and a residence pup who stole the heart of my little one.
The rooms are unbelievably clean, no dust in site. Mini bar stocked and small little gestures like make up wipes with a dark towel and chocolate in the coffee mugs.
Such a cute, very well maintained motel. We will definitely be back on our next adventure to Bairnsdale.
The Bairnsdale Motel was excellent - clean, comfy, relaxing and well appointed. There was everything we needed in the King Spa room and the bed was really comfortable. The room was spacious and very clean, the bathroom was large and easy to use (room to put toiletries, shaving kit, etc.) and the minibar well stocked. There was breakfast available and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The manager was friendly, helpful, and obliging.
The Motel was quiet, despite being central to the main town of Bairnsdale.
The Motel is old, but relatively clean and all facilities were in working order.
The fridge and freezer in particular, was perfect.
The bed was firm and comfortable.
I felt safe and secure in the motel room I stayed in.
The facilities felt fresh and up-to-date - the room was clean, spacious and bright. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the owner was lovely. I recommend the hotel restaurant, too. There didn't seem to be many restaurants within walking distance, so my friend and I had breakfast there each morning and really enjoyed it.
I've stayed here before and whilst it's not fancy per se, it is very comfortable, very clean and well positioned - particularly for the price as Bairnsdale is never that cheap. Bonus, the shower was very good (good water pressure). I would definitely stay again with all these factors.
Great location. Modern, spacious room. Heaps of space (I stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment). Good sized bathroom with laundry facilities. Best dinner in Bairnsdale downstairs and best breakfast next door.
The location was great as I was stuck in hospital when I booked. I was able to book online once I found out I was delayed in hospital. This was the closest motel and probably the best value.
Good location. This hotel includes a bistro and some gambling machines as well (we didn't use). There's private parking spots and street parkings. We had dinner there which is quite good.
Good location in Bairnsdale, near shops and the river. Good facilities at the holiday park, pool was great on the hot day we were there. Staff were lovely and welcoming.
