Lovely modern clean unit with good supplies and lots of room. We had a nice lookout and were walking distance to the New World which was next door. Also provided parking which was essential as we had classic cars.

Global Village Travelers hostel was the most attractive of the six I stayed in during my visit to the West Coast. It was clean, well decorated, and welcoming. Each bed of my female only dorm room had its own electrical outlet and light. The kitchen was clean and well stocked with cookware. Lots of books and pamphlets in the common rooms about the surrounding area. I recommend it highly for solo female travelers!

Very good stopping pony to visit pancake rocks and the blow holes. We walked to the coal creek falls which was lovely. We drove to Franz Josef, Fox Glacier and Hokitika. Greymouth was okay but there is absolutely nothing to do when it’s raining. Its only a small town.. the big pils is it has no traffic lights!

We enjoyed eating at the Speights Ale House and having coffee at the Robert Harris Coffee lounge. Our stay at the Sundowner Motel was clean and spacious. Our hosts were helpful and this made our stay enjoyable. The information boards around the town were interesting to read as we walked around but once we had accomplished this there was not a lot else to do. We would have liked to hire a car and explore further a field but no one would allow us to hire a car for a day.

Greymouth itself is not very attractive but the coastal drive north to Punakaiki offers fantastic scenery, and Hokitika Gorge to the south will not disappoint. There’s a small restaurant in Greymouth called Sevenpenny which was very good, far better than the overpriced restaurant in our hotel.

The proprietor's wife is now withholding the pair of jeans I had accidentally left behind.
Having phoned the motel, the proprietor's wife advised me to send a self-addressed and stamped envelope to the motel for them to forward my black jeans to my next accommodation in NZ. When she realised I was the guest who had requested a replacement for a broken toaster and scratched frying pan during our stay (the husband had kindly replaced both items within 40 minutes), she sent the following message to my phone:"LOL after how much we went out of our way for you and yet you thought things were disgusting here! Good luck with the return of your jeans." End of quote. Needless to say we are dismayed that a proprietor would threaten to withhold a paying customer's property and have subsequently contacted booking.com and gave filed a complaint. We are awaiting their response.
Copthorne Hotel Greymouth, is in a lovely location and included with our room was a little shared balcony from which we were able to enjoy sea views, this was a very nice added bonus. The room is very clean, a nice size and pleasant and appealing to the eye. We also found the staff very warm and pleasant to talk with, which makes a huge difference to one's perception of a safe environment to stay in. We were more than happy with the service and the room we were fortunate to enjoy, and would recommend the room to all.
Al was amazingly kind and helpful. Their home is lovely, the room was super comfy and spotlessly clean. We were received with homemade biscuits, tea, and coffee.
In the morning, the homemade breakfast pleasantly surprised us and was the perfect complement to continue our travels.
We decided to stop in Greymouth just to rest overnight during our trip, and choosing Al and Rosie's place for this purpose was an excellent decision.
Without a doubt, we would recommend them and stay again anytime we are in Greymouth.
From the moment we arrived, the staff did everything they could to assist us and make our stay a pleasant one. Our room was excellent and spacious, with lovely views back up into the mountain. While the exterior of the hotel is quite confronting - it is literally the largest and tallest building in Greymouth, the warmth of the people and facilities inside well make up for that. Parking is ample and easy to access. Would definitely recommend this as an accommodation destination.
The host is friendly, the place is casual with a home-like feel to it. However, bedding is clean and up to standard, adequate kitchen/bathroom facilities - functional and clean with spacious bedrooms. It's a quiet and peaceful area, good parking availability and a short trip from Greymouth. Suitable for travellers on a budget that enjoy nature within a casual and laid back setting. I'd probably return because the price is so attractive...
This was the nicest property we stayed in during our holiday in New Zealand including some that were much more expensive. It is is a lovely rural location and the option of having a slow roast cooked by the hosts who sat and chatted with us was wonderful. Really lovely touches in the suite including decent toiletries and furnishings.
Fantastic, new, modern accommodation. Amenities were great. Bed was the most comfortable on our whole trip. The shower was peefect, lovely and hot and good pressure. Tv in both main room and bedroom. Lovely view of the green lawns and only 5 minutes from the beach and Greymouth. Staff were excellent
There was an outstanding view over the ocean from the unit. It was modern, complete, spacious, comfortable beds, chairs, outdoor furniture. It opened to a small deck and a grassy area. Great sunrise. Convenient to Greymouth. Friendly host. We really liked our stay.
Location. Perfect location to explore Greymouth and surrounding towns. Makes a great beach access from the holiday park.
Friendly staff upon arrival. Clean rooms and clean shower/toilet area. Shower was really warm .
Nice cooking area with a bbq too.
Immaculate and spacious for motel room. Larger bathroom. Kitchen worked well (did not have oven) and dishes and cookware of a good standard. Bed was wonderfully comfortable. Daily tidy up a bonus!
great location out of town .
very close to the main road so slot for road noise . but the motel provides ear plugs. so very thoughtful
Getting to feed the eels in the river at the motel
Cabins were well laid out and equipped. Sone of the best facilities we have seen at a Top 10. Very friendly and helpful staff. My 82 year old Mum had a great stay
