Aoraki Court Motel, hotel in Mount Cook Village

Aoraki Court Motel is a modern accommodations located in Aoraki Mount Cook National Park. All units feature great views of surrounding mountains and Mount Sefton.

Aoraki Motel is at base of Mt Cook Range, You are in middle of hiking mecca. Place was spotlessly clean, had 2 burner cooktop fridge microwave. Everything was all in one room with a back patio and separate bathroom/shower. Extremely quiet at night (TON better than staying in the Tour bus filled hotel in village) Aoraki Motel is outrageously expensive for what you get. However, it is probably the best deal you will find in this village. There is NOTHING for 50 miles of this Village. Owner was very nice and would give us the weather for the day. There are not may options to stay in the Village.. However I would HIGHLY recommend staying Aoraki Court Motel if you want to get away from the tour bus crowds (that are extremely annoying (pushy and loud)). This will help you have better mindset to enjoy this picturesque pristine paradise without being constantly annoyed with “bus” tourist actions. Mt Cook Village consist of around 200-300 locals serving thousands of tourist. So, there are no restaurants, grocery stores entertainment. Simply Hiking. , Apparently , there is one buffet restaurant offered at nearby hotel and that is it. So, need to pack your food before you come to this remote place. ENJOY It is Breathtaking and Fun!

Haka House Aoraki Mt Cook, hotel in Mount Cook Village

Located Among the Southern Alps, Haka House Aoraki Mt Cook features views of Mount Cook, and is 656 feet from Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Center.

An amazing hostel and location! It reminded me of the hostel in Liechtenstein - well cleaned and spacious for each person. Massive kitchen area with proper recycling bins. Absolutely loved the quiet area and access to the sauna was just amazing after the hikes! Great for stargazing too! The rooms had enough space for luggage storage and curtain to avoid disturbance. Haka house provided shower gels, shampoo and conditioner in all their bathrooms which was great!

Mount Cook Station Huts, hotel in Mount Cook Village

Located near Lake Tekapo in the Canterbury region, Mount Cook Station Huts provides accommodations with free WiFi. Guests can also relax in the garden.

A must stay location for Mt Cook! It is remote and away from all the crowd which makes it more peaceful and scenic. So much history at the location with a little museum on the property. It is run by a very kind and lovely family. I felt right at home and safe. Absolutely loved the walks around the property, the animals and watching the sunset and sunrise. I can't wait to come back and recommend it to others. Towels were provided and the bathroom was spacious. The outdoor area was great to eat, read a book or just watch the sunset.

The facilities were great. Lots of space to sit for dinner, great views of Aoraki/Mount Cook from the dining area. The location is awesome, only an approx 30 min drive to the park and the walk down to the lake is also very nice.

We did a 19 day road trip around the lower North Island, and Mount Cook Village was my favourite place to stay. Id love to go back again some time. Sadly for us due to being delayed due to issues with the interislander we only got to stay here for one night. We took an amazing scenic flight and landed on the Tasman glacier. We had the perfect day for it. The smorgasbord restaurant at the Hermitage was fantastic, one of the better smorgasbord's Ive had. I would love to come back here some day and do some of the shorter walks around the area and just to experience this majestic place once more.

Being able to see the glacier from the top part of the village. Our fantastic day trip to Lake Tasman to get close to icebergs and and the glacier at one end of the lake. (not the glacier seen from the village).

The village is located in an amazing place. If are self catering while in the village you will need to bring your supplies with you. There is very limited grocery items for sale. There is a cafe and restaurant located in the Hermitage complex. The other dining places are closed.

There is limited accommodation at Mount Cook village and it is all expensive. There are many well marked and maintained paths from the road end which allow walks off between one hour and six hours to be safely undertaken. There are no shops or independent restaurants or food outlets, unless you are self catering, you will have to eat in the expensive hotels. The most economical way to visit would be by Campervan bringing all of your supplies with you The self catering options are limited to the motel, which is in my opinion, overpriced for the accommodation it offers.

I did not like Mt Cook Village at all. Hard to get around.

I did not like Mt Cook Village at all. Hard to get around. Nowhere to buy food or snacks and restaurant closed during the day. Inflated prices. I think our experience would have been much better but unfortunately the weather was dreadful and hence we had no views and were unable to do our planned walk. All in all it was a very disappointing experience.

The view was absolutely fantastic -- we could tell the bed itself was usually two twin beds pushed together since there was a ridge in the middle. The pillows were great, but the bed wasn't super comfy. I'd expect a bit nicer of a bed for the price. We also noticed that the hallway light illuminated the room when it was nighttime and my partner, who struggles with waking up from things like this, needed to wear the eye mask I brought (luckily we brought one!). The hotel staff were absolutely wonderful as well.

incredible location right in the centre of mount cook village. there’s a very well equipped kitchen in the common dining room (people were cooking fish and mussels, BBQing steak on the patio, drinking wine from provided glasses). excellent view of mount cook from the dining room. rooms were clean and comfortable but rather basic and cramped for the price.

The room was on the ground floor. The common kitchen and lounge was amazing with plenty of room for multiple people preparing and eating meals. The lounge faced Aoraki and when it was clear, the view was breathtaking. Being close to the trailheads deep in the valley was fantastic. The bathroom was cozy but had a wonderful shower.

Great room, very quiet and clean. The manager was very friendly and gave some good local advice. We had a great view of the glaciers near Mount Cook, but couldn't see the mountain itself. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Aoraki Court Motel and recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Didn’t want to share a room with strangers but did not realize that this was a hostel until we arrived- this is our fault. However the manager put us in an unoccupied staff room with only two bunks so we didn’t need to share.
