Just so friendly and helpful it was a pleasure to be there. Even my beagle felt like an honoured guest. Room was first rate in every sense. The restaurant was not open but they allowed us to order in and set a table etc. worked really well.

Breakfast was very good and one morning we could even enjoy it on the terrasse outside. Blanket were available in case it would have been a little cold. Very helpful and friendly staff. We really enjoyed our time there.

Delicious breakfast ....very good assortment of pastries , cerals, fruits. The hot choices were very good and cooked to perfection. We loved the staff. They were all wonderful esp Jules, Freya, Lucy, Charlie. Dinner was superb. The fish n chips were an A+++ and we are from New England. The hotel is so steeped in unique history and each nook and crannies reflects this beauty. Our room ( #1)was fantastic.I The Secret Garden was indeed a lovely secret haven for afternoon tea.

The family who owns and runs it were fantastic. They prepared a German dinner for us which was delicious and outstanding.

The owners had many small and excellent touches which raised the level of our satisfaction. We were immediately offered a thermos of fresh milk (usually one has to ask for this); there was very high quality butter with breakfast; the staff were lovely at dinner and breakfast; we enjoyed the food so much at dinner that we forgot to order a packed lunch, but they accommodated us when we asked in the morning at breakfast time.
